SWEDISH FOR RUSSIAN HEALTH CARE PERSONNEL

Learnwell Oy is starting to offer internet-based courses in Swedish for Russian health care personnel. When the number of foreign caretakers increases, so does the need for their ability to speak Swedish. For some time now, The Swedish Culture Foundation has studied how they could offer internet-based courses for foreign health care personnel. A possible target group for the development project has turned out to be the Russian-speaking health care personnel who are interested in working in the health care for the elderly in Finland.

The project starts during the early fall of 2009 and the website is launched in the spring of 2010. http://www.kulturfonden.fi/svenska/om/aktuellt/artikel-14395-10087.html

NORDPLUS/HORIZONTAL PROJECT: LANGUAGE ON THE MOVE

Invitation to the conference ” Innovations in teaching LWUE Languages” at Järfälla NT-Gymnasium April, 16th, 2010.

This conference will be based on the results from a Nordplus Horizontal project called “Languages on the Move” and might also inspire you to new projects using EU funding. We will listen to some very interesting presentations and some exhibitors will be presenting their materials. The project managers in the workshops will give examples of their best practice, too. The language course material, the DVD and the accompanying book, can be used for many different purposes when travelling between our countries; as a tourist, a visitor or in the line of duty.

What is “ Languages on the Move”? http://move-language.eu/index.php/pageid/455
Well, it´s a Nordplus Horizontal project promoting the minority languages within EU. Since the Nordic and Baltic countries have a long history we thought it would be good to learn each other’s languages. The lingua franca of the project is English and the other languages represented in the project are: Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Lithuanian and Swedish.
The final conference will take place on April 16th, 2010 at Järfälla NT-Gymnasium.
Take this golden opportunity of meeting new people, making new contacts and meeting with experts!
The address is: Järfälla NT-Gymnasium, Mälarvägen 2 in Järfälla and you can get to the school by car or by commuter train, the train leave every 15 minutes from The Central station in Stockholm and it will just take about 10 minutes to walk here from the station in Jakobsberg.
Most welcome!
